Openly gay actor Daniel Franzese, best known for his role as Damien in the film “Mean Girls,” joined the cast of the HBO series “Looking” for its second season.

Franzese’s character is Eddie, a love interest who works in the nonprofit community of San Francisco. Franzese joins the ensemble cast including new series regulars Lauren Weedman, Russell Tovey and Raul Castillo, as well as Jonathan Groff, Murray Bartlett, and Frankie Alvarez.

Actor Adrian Anchondo posted a photo of Franzese with the rest of the cast on his Instagram page:

Franzese came out as gay back in April in a letter written to his character Damien from “Mean Girls.” “My friends and family all knew the truth but now it’s time everyone does,” he said. “Perhaps this will help someone else. I’m not afraid anymore.”
